In 1914 Chief Luthuli went to school at the Ohlange Institute founded by Dr John Langalibalele Dube, an ordained Congregationalist minister and the first president of the ANC. Dube had a profound influence on Luthuli.

In this image, Chief Luthuli stands with Rev. Dr. John Langalibalele Dube and Reverend Posselt Gumede who was at one time a pastor of Dube's church.

    Thanks for contacting us Paul. We have double checked with Mwelela Cele who donated the photograph to the Luthuli Museum in 2005. The gentleman standing with Luthuli and Dube is in fact Rev Posselt Gumede. He was at one time a pastor of Dube's church.     Is it not Reverend Josiah Tshanganeni Gumede in the photograph with Luthuli and Dube?
